Electric hookup only

We spent the weekend of Father's Day, camping at Southwick with 2 other RVers.  On Father's Day, many of our family members joined us at the beach for a picnic.  We have done this for many years and unfortunately, this year was a bit cold on the beach.

Most notables:
Spending time with family, beach, bike path, red barns on the way to the park.

Clean with hot showers if you get there in the early am. But remember that we visited the park before school was out so it was quite empty.

I have a love for red barns - for no known reason.  I guess it's my intrigue into history that turns my head when I see them. and the older, the better! There are rolling hills of farm land and dozens of red barns on the roads leading to Southwick Beach State Park.

Just a week ago, I had exchange surgery so I was unable to go bike riding or hiking on this camping trip so my better half went exploring without me. I had no problem just kicking back in my camping chair while she was gone!

No hookup for trailers or RV's

We spent the weekend during the Elvis Festival.  The festival is meant to bring the music of the King to the Queen of America's Lakes. The festival's founders worked with Elvis Presley Enterprises, Inc. to create a world class event respectful to everything Elvis® stood for. Since the festival's inception, it has continued to grow, and is now the second-largest Elvis® Tribute Artist Competition in the world.

Most notables:
Adirondack Pub Brewery & Restaurant;  Shopping; Scenic boat tour of millionaire's row on Lake George

Cancer won't stop me from enjoying nature!  It is 3 weeks past my final chemo treatment and next week I will undergo surgery #2 so I am making the most of this camping weekend! I am also being careful not to get bit by any mosquitoes so am fully sprayed and covered! Follow my breast cancer journey here.

<--  Damn that's a hot truck!

Millionaire's Row on Lake George
There are several choices but we chose the 2 1/2 hour tour on the Mohican because it was the boat that offered the best view of most of the islands.  All tours are narrated with history and unique information about the islands, bodies of water and of course, millionaire's row along the water on the west side.

$23 pp regular price.  They offer military discounts!

About 7am, as we were all having coffee in the camper, we saw a grazing deer in our backyard.  There were several of them that we spotted at dusk along the road that takes you to the plateau camping loop.

It's been 8 days since my final round of chemotherapy which hopefully killed off any remaining breast cancer cells.  What better way to celebrate than to head out for our first #outnabout roadtrip in the new camper?

It's not just the awesome variety of mouthwatering brick oven pizza, it's the fantastic service, comfortable welcoming atmosphere and the toasted ravioli's! Click here for the full review, including cost.

There's a deep sink basin outside of the restrooms, which are located in the middle of the circle on the plateau camping loop. Great for washing dishes, just bring your own hot water.

About 5 miles from camp is the quaint little historic town of Sackets Harbor. Yes, it is a historic 'War of 1812' site that sits along Lake Ontario, but the best thing about this town is Good Fellos Restaurant... oh, and the cupcakes at Chrissy Beanz!
