Adam Hoover (right) with boyfriend Tyler Folke Cincinnati, OH (Aug ’11) – Adam Hoover, Founder of the Ohio Street Protest For Gay Marriage, calls upon the LGBT community and their allies to join the peaceful demonstration for Full LGBT Equality in Ohio. The demonstration will take place at 11:00 a.m. on November 5, 2011 at Fountain Square in Cincinnati, Ohio. The upcoming Equality Demonstration has already attracted the attention of hundreds. Very impressive if you compare it to the recent Equality Demonstration organized by the national grassroots organization GetEQUAL , held in New York City on June 23rd of this year. Their facebook event showed only 66 attending. Hoover, at only 17 years of age, already has an impressive resume in activism. Adam states: “So I went to the gay pride parade in Cincinnati and finally figured out its okay to be gay. It made me want to do something. I started doing phone campaigns to senators and representatives. We made about 15,000 calls between three offices in a two week period. My friends and I also administer several facebook communities, which we found to be the easiest way to connect people. We have about 275,000 supporters across our pages, which includes the “Support Gay Marriage Across America” community page with thousands of fans. I want this world to change.” Not only does Adam serve the LGBT community, he also donates to his community through a project started by his Mother Anna Abdin, called “Gifts of Kindness.” It started when they were giving away some toys which belonged to Adam's two-year-old brother Max. They met a woman through Craig's List who needed help. "My mom started talking to her and she had nothing," said Adam. "She'd lost her job and the oldest kid was working to pay for the family. So my mom rounded up more toys, a Christmas tree, and things for the house." "There were ads for people saying they needed Christmas, and we looked around and said, 'we could get rid of that,' and we just started filling people's needs," said Anna.
