Why join a US Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce?

An LGBT Chamber of Commerce (COC) is typically a business advocate and direct link between LGBT business owners, corporations and government. 

On average, cost for membership is somewhere around $300 a year... but what does your business get for this price?  The #1 reason most people join a group such as this, is for the networking!  Chamber members are a tight group and if a member is looking for a particular product or service, more likely than not, they will look to a fellow Chamber member first!  If you have business related questions, the COC is a fantastic resource to either answer your question, or direct you to another member who might be able to assist you.  Businesses receive a layer of credibility by saying they are a COC member.  Prospective clients find COC members to be considered more reliable than someone from the google hit list... In working to promote a favorable business environment, it is possible that the COC will revoke membership to businesses who are unethical or untrustworthy.  COC members receive publicity and exposure through publications, directories, networking mixers, and website listings.  Many chambers have a political agenda as well and work as a voice for their members in local and state government.  And last but not least, companies large and small are able to support our community, either on a local level or a national level!
